I'm in the process of writing and publishing my first book, "50 Interviews: with Successful Property Managers", and I am looking for successful property management companies or individual landlords in any of the following geographic areas that might be willing to be interviewed for the book:

1. Denver, Colorado area
2. Colorado Springs area / Southern Colorado
3. Northern California
4. Southern California
5. Any other State in the United States

The intent of the book, as well as all the other 50 Interview titles, is to share wisdom with others considering pursuing a career in the selected discipline, in this case, property management.

The book will also appeal to the interviewee's peers and potentially expose them to some new property management opportunities. The first book in the series, written by Brian Schwartz, was "50 Interviews: Entrepreneurs":

Neighborhood Services (Fort Collins, CO) offering Landlord Training class on October 2 & 9, 2009

Neighborhood Services is offering the Landlord Training class this October. The class is a two-day, eight hour class designed to inform and empower local landlords to operate successfully. If you have taken this class before please feel free to share this information with others who may be interested.

The class will take place on Friday, October 2 and Friday, October 9, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This is a two-part training. Please plan on attending both days. This class was recently approved for 8 hours of continuing education credit for real estate brokers through the Colorado Real Estate Commission.

The cost is $20 and reservation confirmation will only be sent after payment has been received. Your confirmation letter will serve as your receipt and will provide location and directions. If you would like to register, credit card payments can be made by calling Melanie Clark at 416-2351. Vacancy rates jump across Colorado, rents flat

The Colorado statewide apartment vacancy rate for the 2Q'2009 increased to 9.1%, rising from the 2Q'2008 rate of 6.7%.

Fort Collins reported the highest vacancies at 9.9%.

As expected, the survey showed little rent growth in metropolitan areas of the state.

The largest increase in average rent was found in Loveland where average rents increased from $853.75 during the 2Q'2008, to $870.63 during the 2Q'2009.

A 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.22% for the week ending August 6, 2009, down from last week when it averaged 5.25%.

Last year at this time, it averaged 6.52%.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage this week averaged 4.63%, down from last week when it averaged 4.69%.

Last year at this time, it averaged 6.10%.
